NCC & AS3740 Compliance
Every Wet Area Solutions solid surface shower base is custom manufactured with an integrated 1:80 fall to the waste, designed to meet the requirements of the National Construction Code (NCC) and AS3740 Waterproofing of Domestic Wet Areas.
The maximum machined fall available depends on the selected base profile:
- 12mm Profile – Maximum machined fall of 6mm
- 20mm Profile – Maximum machined fall of 14mm
During the manufacturing process, we assess the shower base dimensions and outlet position to ensure the required 1:80 fall can be achieved. If the required fall exceeds the capacity of the selected profile, a thicker base profile is specified to maintain compliance and deliver optimal drainage performance.

Our 12mm Solid Surface Shower Base offers a sleek, low-profile design that creates a modern, seamless finish for contemporary bathrooms. Manufactured from premium solid surface material, it combines durability with a refined aesthetic, making it ideal for residential and commercial applications.
To comply with the National Construction Code (NCC) and AS3740 Waterproofing of Domestic Wet Areas, the machined fall to the waste is limited to a maximum of 6mm. This profile is best suited to smaller shower bases or outlet positions requiring a shallower fall.
Where a greater fall is required, our 20mm profile should be selected to ensure compliance.
You may still purchase a non-compliant base, our staff will assist in notifying you if your base in non-compliant, it is up to your discretion to proceed with ordering.
Our 20mm Solid Surface Shower Base provides increased design flexibility without compromising on appearance. The additional thickness allows for a deeper machined fall to the waste, making it the ideal solution for larger shower bases or outlet positions that require greater drainage capacity.
The 20mm profile accommodates up to 14mm of machined fall, ensuring larger or more complex shower designs remain compliant with NCC and AS3740 requirements.
For larger base sizes or outlet positions further from the waste, the 20mm profile is the suggested choice.
The 20mm bases can be customised up to 2400mm x 1200mm, this is heavily dependent on outlet location to remain compliant. Our staff will notify you if your requested base size and outlet location is compliant. If your base is non-compliant, our staff will offer an alternative for you. If you wish to proceed with ordering a non-compliant shower base, it is up to your discretion to proceed with an order.
